Blount Cancer Center
The design of UT Medical's Blount County Cancer Center, establishes a welcoming oncology facility in Alcoa that reflects the organization’s brand — familiar at the healthcare system's on-campus Cancer Institute.
In the lobby and waiting area, a wall mural of the Great Smoky Mountains celebrates the Blount County community’s long heritage and connection with the mountains. On the exterior, metal panel and patterned brick are modern elements of the design, while pops of color and walnut wood accents lend warmth and biophilic character to the interior.
The state-of-the-art facility provides a full spectrum of oncology and support services. The building includes exam rooms, infusion bays, and counseling areas — all intended to support positive outcomes when patients most need it. The building also includes a timeshare suite for complementary medical provider services, accessed through a separate entrance to reduce infection risk.
