Our home here in Southern Appalachia is core to who Barber McMurry is. Our professional practice is shaped by our connection to our community. For us, that looks like volunteering, giving back, and paying forward.
It also looks like pro-bono or low-cost design services — both through our annual Day of Service and through routine work with local and regional non-profits and community partners. On Day of Service, we close our office for a one-day design blitz to benefit a local non-profit. In addition, we donate design services to 3 to 5 community partners every single year, on average. The value of our pro bono work, with annual charitable giving, amounts to roughly 2% of our revenue every year.
We mean it when we say East Tennessee is home, and are wholeheartedly dedicated to giving back, paying forward, and making great design accessible to everyone. This is what matters to us: that we have been good people and good friends for more than a century.
