SmartBank Corporate Headquarters

The design of SmartBank's corporate headquarters highlights the positive environmental impacts of renovation over new construction while establishing a contemporary office and banking space.

Design accents of cypress wood lead from the underside of the exterior canopy into an interior accent wall that flows from the two-story entry deeper into the building. The exterior is further defined by a mix of regional materials, like stacked stone, with modern metal panels and extensive glazing. Inside, a monumental stair is a central fixture. Brand colors are utilized from floor to ceiling, through custom carpet tile patterns to blue accent walls and warm wood accents.

Up to 80% of a building's overall energy use is related to demolition, construction, and the extraction and manufacture of building materials. Renovations cut down on these costs, both financial and environmental. This design transformed a dated office building into a smart, contemporary space with an eye toward responsible environmental stewardship.
