Our home here in the ridges and valleys of Southern Appalachia is core to who Barber McMurry is. Our practice is shaped by our connection to our community. For us, that looks like volunteer days in the community and charitable donations to services that make our community better for everyone.
It also looks like pro-bono design services — both through our annual Day of Service and through routine work with local and regional non-profits and community partners. On Day of Service, we close our office for a one-day design blitz to benefit a local non-profit. In addition, we donate design services to 3 to 5 community partners every single year, on average. The value of our pro bono work, with annual charitable giving, amounts to roughly 2% of our revenue every year.
We mean it when we say East Tennessee is home, and are wholeheartedly dedicated to giving back, paying forward, and making great design accessible to everyone.
